As we started visiting Samos in 1995 the Drachma was the local currency. Since then and being part of the Eurozone Greece now has the Euro (€) as its national currency.Bank Note denominations are : 5, 10 , 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euro.Coins : Cents 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, Euro Coins : 1 and 2.There are plenty of Exchange facilities in all major places on the Island.
